Thijs van Soest studied medicine at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He graduated in 2018, after which he worked as a resident in the Tergooi Hospital for 1 year. In March 2020, he started his PhD on the epidemiology and clinical features of bacterial meningitis. In January 2023, he started his neurology training in the Amsterdam UMC, location AMC.
