Disease specific referrals
Tertiary referral center Neurosarcoidosis Amsterdam UMC
We have established a tertiary referral center for neurosarcoidosis patients in the Amsterdam UMC in the summer of 2015. We work together with the sarcoidosis center at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. When a patient is suspected of neurosarcoidosis the general practitioner, the neurologist or the treating physician can refer patients directly to the above mentioned neurologists. Additionally, there is a multidisciplinary video conference with the Erasmus MC once a month and a multidisciplinary meeting in the Amsterdam UMC every Friday (KIR).
Amsterdam Multidisciplinary Lyme Center
The neurologists of Neuroinfections Amsterdam are part of the Amsterdam Multidisciplinary Lyme Center (AMLC). Patients with suspected neuroborreliosis can be referred by general practitioners or neurologists to one of the neurologists mentioned above. If symptoms are not specifically neurological, referral can be done through the AMLC after which the patient will be evaluated first by one of the infectious disease specialists of the AMLC. AMLC Link (Dutch) for referral: Verwijzen naar het Lyme-centrum Amsterdam UMC
Consultation spontaneous intracranial hypotension
The treating neurologist can refer patients with a clinical suspicion of spontaneous intracranial hypotension to the neurologists mentioned above, at Amsterdam UMC. Patients will be seen at the out-patient clinic. If necessary, patients can be admitted for a short period to accelerate diagnostics and treatment. Additionally, Amsterdam UMC can be reached for consultation through the afore mentioned channels. There is a biweekly multidisciplinary meeting with neurology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, and anesthesiology departments present to discuss diagnosis and treatment.
