Marleen received her Bachelor’s degree Health & Life Sciences in 2018 at the Vrije Universiteit and received her MD in 2021 at the University of Utrecht. She worked two years as a resident at the Pediatric department at the St Antonius Hospital and thereafter as a resident at the Emergency department at the Flevohospital. Since the end of 2023 Marleen is a PhD candidate at the Neuroinfections Amsterdam research group in the Amsterdam UMC. The main focus of her research are neonatal infections, mainly those caused by GBS.
