Dixie Bakker

Dixie Bakker studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam and obtained her master’s degree in 2022. She did her research internship at the Neuroinfection Amsterdam research group, where she looked into the functional role of outcome associated variations in host genetics during pneumococcal meningitis. During her second research project, she studied the effects of IL-4 and LPS synergism in human macrophages at the Amsterdam UMC. In October 2022, she started her PhD project with the Neuroinfections Amsterdam research group, in which she focuses on the translation of host genetics in bacterial meningitis.
